To Order 3rd Edition
Particulars:
338 pages, lavishly illustrated, in oversized 8 ½ x 11" format on high
quality paper, softbound but sturdy.
Includes many maps, including a loose-leaf map of the settlements to
accompany you on self-guided tours of the area covered in the text.
The book was written under the auspices of the Sierra County Historical
Society and has earned them a tidy sum for their noble work. Similarly, the
coffers of the Downieville Museum have benefited from the sale of the book.
Remember this if you are interested but have an attack of parsimony!
Copies of Like A Leaf have gone to live in all the major libraries of
Western Americana in the USA, to Canada, England, Bulgaria (!) and I fully
expect to hear of one in Ulan Botor someday. After all, people flocked to
the Gold Rush from all over creation and the topic of the Gold Rush
continues to cast a spell far and wide.
You have several options for purchasing Like A Leaf...
For a personalized autographed copy directly from The Author, send $35 plus $2.54 CA tax (for CA residents). The added mailing/handling costs depend on how far away you are. Most CA destinations are running $7.20 padded envelope, postage, with delivery confirmation as a hedge against loss in
transit.

Sorry, I'm not a literary giant except to my loyal book club members and
possibly my cat, so I don't have the capacity to process credit cards. Neither
do I deal in volumes large enough to make it worth while to join the sadly-
discounted authors at Amazon.com.
